General
1. Q. Where are Bishop’s Original products manufactured?
A. The organic treatments and additives are produced in Houston, TX by Bishop’s Original Products Inc., a company specializing in permafused lubricants. The founder John Bishop is a world-renowned and respected chemical engineer who specializes in the chemistry of lubricants, and is the inventor of permafused lubricants.
2. Q. Why is the product name different than the company name?
A. Transit Fuel Boost is a company that represents and sells John Bishop’s Original products. The product is named after the inventor, John Bishop.
3. Q. If the Bishop’s product has been around so long (c. 1975), why isn’t it sold in stores?
A. Primarily because Mr. Bishop’s efforts continue to be in developing and producing quality products, not on advertising. John’s personal preference is organic marketing. His word of mouth approach enables consumers to ask questions to Distributors who can actually answer them, instead of experiencing the potential frustration of finding a clerk at a local automotive chain who can respond with specific knowledge about his product, the independent studies, and the benefits of his additive versus others in the retail market.
4. Q. Have Bishop’s engine treatment ever been duplicated?
A. No, but not by lack of trying. Huge corporations have attempted to reverse engineer John Bishop’s products for over 30 years and have unsuccessfully tried to produce an additive with the same benefits that his offer, and provide independent studies with documented proven results. Permafuse Technology is unique and proprietary. The Federal Trade Commission’s website is filled with lawsuits filed by consumers against companies whose products just don’t work. Visit www.FTC.gov for more info.
5. Q. Do you have proof these products work, and that I’m not just adding something that doesn’t hurt or help my engine?
A. Bishop’s products have been validated for decades by laboratories, universities and consumers. Our website contains details of independent studies conducted to prove you can save money by increasing your gas mileage up to 25%, reducing maintenance costs & prolong engine life, and by reducing repair cost due to engine enhancement. You will also improve engine performance by decreasing heat and wear caused by friction up to 30%, and increase horse-power up to 15%, while providing permanent lubrication, and experiencing easier ‘starts’, and a quieter ride. In addition to all these benefits, you will contribute to an improved environment by reducing fuel and oil consumption, cutting carbon emissions, and reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
6. Q. Is there a guarantee to results?
A. Treatments should be added immediately after an oil change. Two major areas of benefit are improved mileage and performance. Mileage results vary based on your how often you drive. A person with a long commute, for example, or a geographically large sales territory will see results faster with the volume of miles they drive. They could see increases in mileage in a day or two. Improvements in engine performance will vary depending on a vehicle’s age, health, and driving conditions. In general you’ll see improved performance at around 1500 miles, as it can take up to that many miles for the product to completely treat all the engines nooks and crannies. Best part is you’ll have benefit for an entire year!
7. Q. Will using this product void my warranty?
A. No. These products if used according to directions will not void OEM or Extended Warranty. (An exception may be if a brand name company has recommended use of their specific brand for maintenance in their product.)

8. Q. When do I apply Bishop’s Original engine additives?
A. For optimum results we recommend you add Bishop’s Original additives right after an oil change. The engine additive may take up to1500 miles to allow complete treatment of all surfaces. If the oil was replaced before driving this distance, the treatment would have to be repeated. The additive should not be applied in a new engine prior to completing the run-in period (we recommend driving at least 2,000 miles). You may also apply the product during the first warranty replacement after 7-10,000 miles. Engine treatment does not require any special precautions. We recommend running the engine for several minutes after pouring the additive to ensure a thorough mixing with the oil.
9. Q. What will happen if I apply more additive than specified?
A. Essentially nothing. The manufacturer has specified the recommended amount, but exceeding it does not bring additional benefit or harm.
10. Q. How often do I have to repeat the procedure?
A. The manufacturer recommends a new treatment every 60,000-90,000 miles depending on the type of vehicle.
11. Q. Does Bishop’s Original work on any kind of engine?
A. If it’s an internal combustion engine it surely does! Any internal combustion engine can be permafused with Bishop’s Original---gas or diesel engines, piston aircraft engines, big rigs, buses, generators, compressor engines, snowblower engines, boat engines, construction rigs, farm equipment, lawn mower engines….the list is endless.
12. Q. Can the additives be used on older engines?
A. If the engine was treated properly and oil replacements were performed regularly, then application of the additive is highly desirable. Application will reduce considerably the passive resistances of an engine having increased by a long-term operation. Operating properties, noise levels, and smoke levels will improve and engine operation will calm down generally. Improvement is actually more distinct for older engines versus new ones.
Competition
13. Q. What will happen if I apply the additive to engines previously treated with other additives?
A. Molecular additives do not show any effects on these materials. However, we recommend you replace the oil, and not to apply the additive to oil already containing another product. Bishop’s Original additives create a perfect shield on all surfaces. We recommend checking the filter after application, since the Bishop’s Original additives show very good cleaning effects, and a complete engine will get cleaned gradually.
14. Q. There are many additives in our market, which ‘claim’ to be capable of mixing with any oil type. Is this the case with Bishop’s Original additives?
A. Our products are produced as specialized additives designed for individual oil types. Thus, there are separate types for gasoline and diesel engines.
15. Q. What’s wrong with so much of the additives on the market?
A. Additives containing chlorine and chlorine derivatives and a high percentage of sulphur are not particularly suitable for engines and they may result in damage instead. When selecting an additive we recommend you determine the base product, and always require petroleum-based which have an oil odor and oily appearance. They should not be transparent with a synthetic odor.
16. Q. Why are potentially harmful products introduced to the market?
A. One reason is that the permafusion technology is proprietary and patented, and no other person or organization/company has been able to reverse engineer John Bishop’s formula. That has not prevented others from producing imitations claiming miraculous effects using chlorine type additives which provide only short-term results and long-term damage.
17. Q. How do I know Bishop’s Original is good and works?
A. The best method is to read the independent long-term studies and product validations on our website proving our product has withstood the rigors of laboratory tests, and the test of time. The most personal confirmation is to track your own vehicle’s mileage and engine performance improvements to determine your own results. Over the past 33 years John Bishop’s products have received zero complaints -----which speaks volumes and confirms our proven results!
18. Q. What the best way to determine if competitive product’s claims are accurate?
A. We recommend you look for long-term independent studies proving their product’s effectiveness. Check www.FTC.gov or www.EPA.gov for test results, the Better Business Bureau for complaints, and the Federal Trade Commission for lawsuit results (www.FTC.gov).
Science
19. Q. What exactly is Permafusion Technology?
A. It refers to permafused lubricants and applies to special additives which operate on the principle of permanent diffusion of lubricants. John Bishop is the inventor (c.1975).
20. Q. What is the difference between regular oil additives and the special additives?
A. Bishop’s Original, a special additive, is dealing with substances facilitating the lubrication process by improving the metal surfaces at the contact point. The treatment method may differ as there are several generations depending on the material used.
21. Q. What are the 3 generations of the treatment process of metallic surfaces?
A. It depends of the type of effect of the material applied: 1st Generation: Chemical lubrication – active surface improvement using controlled chemical aggression of soft metals and oxidants (usual oil lubricating additives). It is called active lubrication as it’s subject to the ageing process and highly influenced by the amount of contaminants present in an oil and chemical reaction product.
2nd Generation: Application of the low friction coefficient substance onto the surface. It has been proven over time that the materials do not show effects claimed by their manufacturers, and these products cannot be used in new equipment.
3rd Generation: Differs significantly differs from the previous two. The principle is called micromolecular diffusion into the metallic surface meaning the material penetrates into the metal surfaces and creates a highly lubricious film connected firmly with the base metal, yet no lubricious film is formed on the metal surface so no dimensional change occurs (tolerances are not impacted). The change takes place inside the metal surface instead. The protective film adheres perfectly and there is no risk of its separation.
22. Q. How do the 3rd Generation additives function?
A. They are divided into two groups----the first are EP (extreme pressure) additives based on halogen derivatives (exclusively containing chlorine or fluorine which are no long used due to their corrosive elements and harmful environmental effects); the second comprises a highly specialized additive based on petroleum distillates. Both the additive and the technology were developed and patented by John Bishop. (See Bob Sikorski article in Product Validation tab of website.)
23. Why should we add anything to our oil?
A. We must be aware that significant wear growth occurs, and is initiated by the high pressure and temperature caused by the lubricating properties of oils deteriorating sharply over time, possibly resulting in major mechanical problems and expensive repairs.
